Anatomy online
A number of interactive online resources have been developed by the Centre for Innovation in Professional Health Education and Research (CIPHER) in the Faculty of Medicine to support teaching and learning in clinically applied anatomy.
These include the Wilson Museum of Virtual Anatomy and the Virtual Anatomy Tutor (VAT).
Wilson Online Museum of Human Anatomy

The Online Wilson Museum of Human Anatomy contains over 200 digitized specimens of human anatomy selected from the extensive collection of bottled and wet prosected specimens that make up the Wilson Museum within the University of Sydney.
The online images from the museum are all annotated and described and represent some of the highest quality anatomical presentations available on the internet.

The Virtual Anatomy Tutor builds on the digitised collection of the Wilson Museum and has had input from both clinicians and anatomists. Tutorials are currently being developed around the principle organ systems of the body and integrated with year 1 and 2 PBL cases. The tutorial contains carefully structured quizzes and challenges designed to both test the students' knowledge of applied and basic anatomy as well as give an indication of the required breadth and depth of knowledge. |
