Sutton Arthritis Research Laboratories
The Sutton Laboratories, located at Royal North Shore Hospital, focuses on research to understand the mechanisms of, and discover new treatments for, inflammatory and auto-immune diseases.
Specific areas of interests are:
- matrix metalloproteinase activity in inflammation
- the anti-inflammatory and protective roles of activated protein C
- role of osteopontin during tendon invasion in rheumatoid arthritis
- new treatments for wound healing
- prevention of type I diabetes
