National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance of Vaccine Preventable Diseases (NCIRS)

The National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance (NCIRS) was established in August 1997 as part of the Immunise Australia program by the Department of Health and Ageing The Centre carries out research and surveillance about all aspects of immunisation including providing independent expert advice about vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs), surveillance of immunisation coverage and adverse events and interpretation of data from the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR).
