Its work centres on health services research and development, particularly in medical general practice, but also in other fields of primary medical care The FMRC also has a long history of development and distribution of classifications and terminologies for primary care, being the distributor of the International Classification of Primary Care on behalf of the World Organisation of Family Doctors (Wonca).
