NSW Breast Cancer Institute

The mission of the NSW Breast Cancer Institute is to lead in the provision of breast cancer care for women, their families and society, through screening, treatment, research, information, diagnosis and education.

The goals of the Institute are:

  1. Multidisciplinary Clinical Care
    To develop, implement and promote ‘best-practice’, patient-focussed, multidisciplinary breast care
  2. Research into Practice
    To conduct and translate research into improving the care and quality of life of patients with breast cancer
  3. Education
    To provide consumer and health professional education, that ensures continuous improvement of breast cancer care
  4. Technology and Innovation
    To evaluate and adopt new technology and innovations that will improve service provision for the early detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer
  5. Authoritative Resource
    To be an authoritative resource on breast cancer
  6. Governance and Operations
    To ensure effective ethical and accountable governance, organisational vitality, responsiveness and communication, and operational and technological excellence.
