Parafibromin is a tumour suppressor that has been strongly implicated in parathyroid tumorigenesis and more recently the development of breast and gastric cancer. I have recently conducted a yeast two hybrid screen of parafibromin and have identified numerous potential binding partners of this protein. My current research is focused on validating and then determining the functional significance of parafibromins interaction with each of these binding partners. The ultimate goal of this research is to determine how parafibromin contributes to tumorigenesis.
