Professor Kim Oates receives Alumni Award for Community Service

This years Alumni Award for Achievement in Community Service goes to Professor Oates in recognition of the outstanding contribution he has made to the community at large in the field of child health and particularly child abuse and neglect.

Professor Oates has demonstrated his commitment through leadership, innovation and creativity by developing new services for Australian children over a long period. He is an internationally recognised expert in paediatrics, non-accidental injury and child sexual abuse and has made a sustained, exceptional community contribution to enhance the health and welfare of children.

The University of Sydney's Alumni Award for Achievement in Community Service is awarded each year by the Standing Committee of Convocation and the Alumni Relations Office for graduates who have made outstanding achievements and services to the community.
