Honoured by their fields

Three members of the Faculty of Medicine from areas as diverse as psychiatry and pathology have been honoured by their fields.

Professor Leslie Burnett, Director of the Pacific Laboratory Medicine Services (PaLMS), and Head of Laboratory and Community Genetics, Kolling Institute of Medical Research, has been honoured by the Management Sciences Division (MSD) of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) for making an ‘Outstanding Contribution to Management Sciences’.

Emeritus Professor Russell Meares has recently been awarded 'Distinguished Psychiatrist of the Year’ and will receive his award at UCLA in 2007.

Professor Philip Boyce was recently awarded with an honorary Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore for his contributions to the advancement of medicine and fostering stronger ties between this organization and Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Professor Boyce is Professor of Psychiatry and Head of Psychological Medicine.
