Service announcements
Medical School servers may be unavailable on Fridays between 6 am and 8 am for regular maintenance.
This may include email, web, file and database servers for both students and staff. This time has been chosen because it coincides with the regular planned maintenance period for central ICT servers and networks (which often affects Medical School Services).

Description: Mail to the Outlook Exchange Labs (Student Email) is intermittantly not functioning.
Problem has been reported to ICT and to Outlook Exchange Labs but we are currently awaiting a response.
No current ETA on a resolution.

Affected Services: Brief outages on SMTP, POP/IMAP email services and web sites that require log-in. The account web tool will remain inaccessible for the duration of the work
Maintenance is to be carried out on the Faculty LDAP directory servers due to a data replication problem that is causing inconsistent data to build up on one of the two servers.
We will try to take steps to reduce any noticable impact on users to only a few minutes. Possible affected services include web sites requiring authentication, e.g. http://www.gmp.usyd.edu.au/ and inbound email, which may be delayed.
