Who studies Medicine at University of Sydney?

Our medical students come from varied life and study backgrounds, reflecting the diversity of the communities in which they will be working. Their ages at enrolment range from early 20s to mid 40s.

Some come from rural or regional Australia, some from our major cities; some were near neighbours in South-East Asia, others came from across the globe. See the Class Profile for countries of citizenship among the 2009 international cohort.

While around half the 2009 intake have studied medical or biological sciences for their first degree, there is a broad range of other areas studied by their colleagues - the Class Profile has the details.

For a close-up of some current and recent students, go to the Individual Profiles, where you can read about local and international students who took the graduate-entry pathway.
