Outgoing University of Sydney elective students & staff to Dresden (Dec 2007-Feb 2008)

The University of Sydney’s Medical Faculty exchange partnership with Carl Gustav Carus Faculty of Medicine, University of Technology Dresden is supported by the DAAD in Germany. Staff are eligible for some financial support towards living expenses during exchange placements in Germany. The Dresden exchange program is different to many of the others available to students as it provides the opportunity for substitute rotations with up to 16 weeks on placement in Dresden.

In 2007, Keiran Tuck and James Postle undertook their Child & Adolescent Health Rotation in Dresden. Students interested in spending part of their fourth year under this scheme must be fluent German speakers. For further information, visit the Dresden Medical School website.

Incoming Dresden students to University of Sydney in 2008

The medical school in Dresden has nominated three students for placement at the in 2008. Sabine Mogwitz will be at Westmead Hospital, whilst Jurek Schultz and Claudia Guendel will be at the Childrens Hospital Westmead. Between January and June 2007, Johannes Wiechsel completed a paediatric placement at the Childrens Hospital, Westmead.
