Student facilities

  • Brand new common room
  • Brand new library
  • Computer lab with modern facilities - internet access and printing
  • An excellent skills lab with equipment and models for practicing clinical skills

Our strengths

  • The clinical school staff are friendly and they value student feedback;
  • Students benefit from having tutors from a wide variety of medical specialties;
  • Numerous Clinical Attachments to choose from for 3rd year;
  • Some areas of interest that RPA is strong in, that may interest students, are:
    * Drug and alcohol
    * General Medicine
    * Respiratory and Sleep
    * Oncology (The Sydney Cancer Center)
    * Immunology
    * Transplant
    * Dermatology
    * Obstetrics

RPA has two main strengths: the experience of its staff, and the fact that a lot of really unusual patients get referred there. The staff know their stuff and are generally quite happy to pass knowledge on to students. The unusual patients mean that obscure diseases from textbooks become memorable. You'll probably see more patients with something like Wegener's granulomatosis at RPA than in the rest of your medical career.
