The Frank Simpson Residential Scholarship - Wesley College, University of Sydney - unavailable in 2010

In 2009 Wesley College Foundation will offer the Frank Simpson Scholarship for two students for two years, covering accommodation at Wesley College, a co-educational college within the grounds of Sydney University.

This scholarship has been established through the generous gift of Mr Frank Noel Simpson, a resident of Wesley College from 1939-42 and formerly Senior Psychologist, Concord Hospital, NSW and Consultant (Psychology) Department of Veterans Affairs, Canberra ACT.

Mr Simpson wanted to support students who are studying Medicine at Sydney University and who have indicated a preparedness to practice in rural and regional areas of need.

The scholarship is open to students who are enrolled in the University of Sydney's graduate-entry Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree.

Preference will be given to those students holding a Bonded Medical Place (in the Australian government's BMP program) though others enrolled in the MBBS, with a commitment to rural practice, may apply.

The successful applicant must establish financial need to hold the scholarship. This will be understood to mean that 'but for the scholarship' the student would be unable to attend Wesley College.

The scholarship is to the value of full fee accommodation at Wesley College (approx $14,000 in 2009) per year. The scholarship will be awarded as payment of the College fees for up to 2 years and will be reviewed annually.

Application Form

Please complete the application form and fax to the Wesley College Foundation on 9516 3653. Please note that this scholarship is not being offered for 2010.
