Scholarships have always played an important role in attracting the brightest and the best to the Faculty of Medicine.

The new Dean's Scholarship Fund will allow us to expand the range and number of scholarships we can offer and to provide opportunities and vital support to our students.

Students today face unprecedented financial pressures. Most of our medical students have already completed one degree, are often working part-time and are usually living away from home.

We would welcome your contribution towards four key award categories:

• Elective Term Scholarships
  to enable students to gain experience beyond Sydney, in rural Australia or overseas
• Indigenous Health Scholarships
  for Indigenous students and other students studying Indigenous health
• Merit Scholarships
  for outstanding achievement
• Financial Assistance Scholarships
  for students experiencing hardship during their medical or public health studies
