International Focus

As well as ensuring that our students receive a quality education informed by the best of evidence-based medicine, Sydney Medical School is also committed to ensuring that our students are globally aware, globally competent and globally competitive. The Office for Global Health assists Sydney Medical School and the other Faculties of Health with this task.

The Office for Global Health, established in 2007, provides analysis, leadership, program development, support and advice to the health faculties in international health activities in the areas of:

  • research and innovation,
  • learning and teaching,
  • the student experience, and
  • community engagement.

The Office for Global Health work includes:

  • enhancing the communication of international health issues,
  • developing an internationalised curriculum,
  • conducting internationally-focussed research,
  • providing support to the health issues of our close neighbours,
  • supporting students in their international activities.
